Deployment
The MailMarshal e10000 is designed to be deployed as the first receiving email gateway in your organization. It is typically deployed in the DMZ between your network firewall and the trusted internal network.
The e10000 can be deployed in a standalone configuration with database logging and the administration console located within your trusted environment. The e10000 acts as an email processing node and can process in the range of 60,000 messages per hour.
The e10000 is also specifically designed to support multiple distributed appliances configured in an array. The array is managed centrally by the MailMarshal Array Manager which can control and manage multiple e10000 appliance nodes. Administration can be performed locally or remotely via the MailMarshal Web Console.
Sizing
A single MailMarshal e10000 appliance can process enough email volume to theoretically support a 10,000-user organization. However, the e10000 is specially designed to provide easy, cost effective deployment of an array of email security servers. Marshal recommends that any organization that is dependant on the continuity of their email network to consider deploying two or more Marshal Security Appliances to provide fault tolerance in the unlikely event of a hardware failure.
