The Business Issue
Running large scale IT networks is a core task of any modern company's daily operations. These networks often include many servers distributed over multiple physical locations. Network functions, including email service, are business-critical and must have high availability. But keeping track of the health of a large number of servers can be a time consuming chore.

The Solution
Microsoft Operations Manager allows an IT administrator to monitor and report on many different computers in a network from a central console. It can monitor the hardware (including disk space and processor performance) as well as specific applications running on those computers.
MOM is designed to use modular Management Packs to allow integrated management of servers and applications. Micsosoft provides Management Packs for many applications including Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server.
MOM also supports customized Management Packs for third-party applications.

The MailMarshal SMTP MOM Management Pack is one such package. It allows monitoring of MailMarshal events with Microsoft Operations Manager. The MailMarshal SMTP MOM Management Pack provides specific MailMarshal event integration including performance counters, security alerts, critical error alerts and general system health.
The Management Pack also delivers reporting data to the MOM reporting module.
The Management Pack supports monitoring of one or many MailMarshal servers.
Used in combination with Microsoft supplied Packs and other third party Packs, the MailMarshal SMTP MOM Management Pack gives administrators an efficient tool to ensure the health of critical network services.
