This hotfix improves the presentation of information on the MailMarshal Today page:
- Moves "All Quarantined Messages" information from Top Quarantined Folders to Mail Statistics and updates how MailMarshal counts quarantined messages. Previously, MailMarshal counted the total number of quarantined messages based on the number of messages in each quarantined folder. As a result, if MailMarshal rules quarantined the same message in multiple folders due to multiple recipients and classifications, MailMarshal counted the message multiple times. With this hotfix applied, MailMarshal counts each quarantined message only once.
- Corrects an issue with message counts for Inappropriate Content. With this hotfix applied, MailMarshal counts messages with inappropriate content only once, even if the message has multiple classifications.
- Corrects an issue where MailMarshal displays graph and label values over 100% for Top Quarantined Folders. With this hotfix applied, graphs and labels show correct values for Top Quarantined Folders. In addition, with this hotfix applied, MailMarshal no longer displays the message count for Top Quarantined Folders by default on the MailMarshal Today page. However, you can choose to display the message count for Top Quarantine Folders on the MailMarshal Today page by selecting the Display Message Count Under Top Quarantine Folders checkbox on the MailMarshal Manager Properties Reporting tab in the MailMarshal Console.
- Changes License Information on the MailMarshal Today page to Product Information and adds SpamCensor update information to Product Information. With this hotfix applied, Product Information on the MailMarshal Today page displays:
- The date and time MailMarshal last downloaded SpamCensor updates
- The date and time MailMarshal last checked for SpamCensor updates
- The date and time MailMarshal will next check for SpamCensor updates
For more information on how MailMarshal calculates and displays data on the MailMarshal Today page, see Marshal Knowledge Base article Q10554.
This hotfix corrects the following issues where MailMarshal incorrectly places certain messages in the Dead Letters folder:
- MailMarshal incorrectly places certain SMS-generated messages that include picture attachments with UUE formatting in the Dead Letters folder. With this hotfix applied, MailMarshal correctly unpacks and processes these messages.
- MailMarshal incorrectly identifies certain messages as .ARJ files and fails to unpack them. MailMarshal then places these messages in the Dead Letters folder. With this hotfix applied, MailMarshal correctly identifies these files.
This hotfix addresses the following issues related to character classes and wildcard characters:
- Corrects an issue where MailMarshal does not correctly recognize or apply rules for users with email addresses that contain certain wildcard characters, such as (*), in LDAP user groups. With this hotfix applied, MailMarshal correctly recognizes email addresses that contain wildcards and applies wildcard matching.
- Allows users to use character classes ([ ]) and single character wildcard characters such as question marks (?) in addition to wildcard characters (*) when defining MailMarshal user groups.
This hotfix also addresses the following issues:
- Corrects an issue where MailMarshal SMTP does not correctly display quarantined messages that contain the following attached archive files:
In the MailMarshal Console, the Message window displays errors and an empty Log tab, and the archive files are not available. This hotfix ensures MailMarshal correctly unpacks the attached archive files and displays the processing logs in the Message window.
- zip
- zipsfx
- rar
- rarsfx
- gzip
- compress
- arj
- arjsfx
- Corrects an issue where MailMarshal incorrectly adds HTTPS URLs entered in the Add Alternate Email Address window of the MailMarshal Spam Quarantine Manager to confirmation emails. With this hotfix applied, MailMarshal correctly adds HTTPS URLs to confirmation emails.

Resolved Issues Included from MailMarshal 6.0 SMTP Hotfix 42096
This hotfix also corrects the following issues, which Hotfix 42096 originally addressed:

- MailMarshal attempts to strip an attachment from an email message received from qmail MTA, causing the MailMarshal Engine service to stop. With this hotfix, MailMarshal correctly strips the attachment and delivers the email message.
